What this is about:

This was a trial in 3D concepting.

Why I did what I did:

The idea was to realistically model a quadripedal tank. Working in Maya, I built the Mammoth tank with an eye on the military vehicles built by General Dynamics, creators of the M1 Abrams battle tank, and the Stryker family of armored vehicles. These vehicles sport a distinctive combination of flat planes and sharp angles - driven by the need to deflect bullets and shrapnel. I incorporated that look into the Mammoth tank's design. I fun imagining what a massive walking battle tank would look like if taxpayers actually had to pay for one.
